This has been a family tradition for Halloween for us for many years. I mean who doesn’t love meatloaf, then you cover it in bacon and smother it in meatloaf sauce (some use BBQ sauce) and it is completely elevated, not to mention so fun!
You can use your own trusted meatloaf recipe no problem, this is the one I use. I start by combining 2lbs of ground beef and 1-1/2 lbs of ground pork. Add in a box of Stove top stuffing, 2 eggs, some milk, spices and shot of worchestshire sauce. Let it sit 10-15 minutes, till the stuffing softens.
While the stuffing is softening proceed to cut an onion in half. The Middle of the onion should look like eyeballs, set them aside. Take an outer layer and cut it into squares for your teeth.

Mix well and place on a cookie sheet. Form the meat to the shape of a skull, use your finger to indent for the eyes and a mouth. Place the 2 “Onion Eyes” into their sockets and place the onion squares in the mouth for the teeth.

Now you will take slices and place them on the skull to mimic bandages. So criss cross, lengthways, whichever way you think looks good. Try not to cover too much of the eyes and mouth.

Make your meatloaf sauce, some people use BBQ sauce but I make my own, equal parts of Ketchup and brown sugar. For the mummy meatloaf I also like to mix in chunky salsa, this just adds to the decomp effect we want from our mummy!
Spread liberally over the mummy.
Place in your preheated oven, it will take 45 minutes to an hour to cook thouroghly.
While the mummy is cooking, after about 30 minutes, I make my toxic waste pasta. This has varied through the years as I try to find neat pasta. Originally it was just macaroni, died green with black sesame seeds for the flies. I have found some pasta that looks like ears. But my favourite was last year, the pasta (Rocchetti) was shaped like large maggots, I made that one a white cheese sauce and again with the black sesame. So for the pasta have fun with it.

This was one of my favourites as it looked like maggots.
I then place the cooked macaroni around the head and sprinkle with black sesame seeds (they look like fleas!) and serve.
