These cookies were delicious and so soft! The kids had a blast making, and devouring them. Great for class parties!

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Start by mixing the butter, vanilla, egg, and softened cream cheese in a bowl.

Then add the box of cake mix, we used golden but white would work too. Golden changes the food colour slightly but I was very happy with how our colours turned out.

Divide the batter into bowls, 1 bowl = 1 colour. We did orange, blue and green so 3 bowls. Cover, so the batter diesn’t dry out, and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Once Chilled roll into 1 1/2″ balls, roll the ball in the powdered sugar, this helps creates the crackled, mildew look! Place on a greased cookie sheet, gently pat down the ball, it will spread more in the oven.

Place in the oven for 10-12 minutes. Once baked let cool for a few minutes then place the eyes on the cookies while they are still warm

  1. Beat egg, vanila, butter and cream cheese until fluffy
  2. Add in the cake mix, mix till smooth
  3. Divide batter into the amount of bowls you will use for colour. eg. Red, Blue, Green = 3 bowls
  4. Add food colouring to the batter and mix thoroughly
  5. Chill for 30 minutes
  6. Roll into small balls and dip in a bowl of powdered sugar
  7. Place on a greased cookie sheet and pat down slightly
  8. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minuites
  9. Now the fun! Add the eyeballs while the cookies are still warm
